ToP 5 Places to Visit in Summers

Manali – A Perfect Summer Retreat in Himachal Pradesh

One of my favorite summer destinations is Manali, located in Himachal Pradesh. The snow-capped peaks, the cool Beas River flowing through the valley, and the lush green meadows always make me feel refreshed. Walking through Mall Road, enjoying local food, or simply sipping hot tea with mountain views is a delight.

Adventure lovers can try paragliding in Solang Valley, rafting in Kullu, or even plan a short trip to Rohtang Pass (if it’s open). For me, Manali is not just about adventure; it’s about the calmness that the mountains bring, which is hard to find anywhere else in summer.

Nainital – The Lake Paradise of Uttarakhand

Another wonderful summer getaway is Nainital, the famous lake town of Uttarakhand. The centerpiece of the town, Naini Lake, looks magical when the sun shines on it. I always enjoy boating in the lake followed by a peaceful walk around Mall Road.

For families, Nainital is perfect because it has a bit of everything—scenic spots, temples, shopping, and fun activities. If you have time, nearby lakes like Bhimtal and Sattal are equally beautiful and less crowded. In my opinion, Nainital is best enjoyed at a slow pace, where you allow yourself to sit by the lake and just soak in the view.

Darjeeling – The Queen of the Hills

Whenever I think of summer trips, Darjeeling in West Bengal always comes to mind. Famous for its tea gardens, toy train, and the stunning view of Mount Kanchenjunga, Darjeeling feels like stepping into a storybook.

Waking up early to watch the sunrise at Tiger Hill was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had. Riding the toy train through winding hills and sipping freshly brewed Darjeeling tea is something I always recommend to travelers. For me, Darjeeling is not just a destination; it’s an experience that mixes nature, history, and culture perfectly.

Ooty – The Summer Gem of South India

When it comes to South India, Ooty in Tamil Nadu is my top summer pick. Known as the “Queen of Nilgiris,” Ooty is filled with rolling hills, tea plantations, and beautiful gardens. Walking through the Botanical Garden or boating at Ooty Lake makes me feel like time has slowed down.

The weather is pleasant throughout summer, making it an ideal escape from the heat of the plains. The scenic Nilgiri Mountain Railway ride is something I personally loved—it felt like traveling through a green wonderland.

Ladakh – The Land of High Passes

For those looking for adventure and something different, Ladakh is the ultimate summer destination. Located in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh is known for its stunning landscapes, monasteries, and crystal-clear lakes like Pangong and Tso Moriri.

I remember riding through the high mountain passes, and it was both thrilling and peaceful at the same time. The beauty of Ladakh is unmatched—you feel so small standing in front of those massive mountains, yet so connected with nature. While the weather is cool in summer, it’s always good to be prepared for sudden changes in temperature.
